HAUSLIFT's ESCALATORS are mainly characteristic for their high performance and safety, keeping in mind, that its well designed balustrade and handrail should complete its aesthetic image. Strength and reliability are provided by its strong and vigorous construction.

HAUSLIFT‘s ESCALATORS are easily installed, while minimum space consumption is considered, specially in those buildings where escalators are a “must“ due to their utilization and function, and each inch of floor space is most valuable.

To make buildings like shopping centers, department stores, leisure facilities, railway stations, subways or airports more splendid and technically highly equipped, HAUSLIFT escalators are the most suitable means to fulfill their functions most efficiently.

As researches have proved, escalators compared to staircases, particularly in buildings serving large numbers of visitors of various age groups, are generally safer. This safety is insured by the use of safety equipments, which are offered by HAUSLIFT’s escalators, designed and manufactured according to BS EN 115:1995, as follows:

  • Drive Unit

    Its helical geared drive is most highly qualified for high rises, while the worm geared offers a quite efficient technical solution for standard applications.

  • Truss

    The rectangular steel tube of which the truss is manufactured gives an additional strength factor that is considered a further development in terms of safety, as well as durability of the complete system.

  • Steps

    The choices of the material as well as the dimensions of the escalator are main factors influencing and ensuring safety measurements. The floor covers and comb plates are of aluminum with black grooves or in etched stainless steel. Its width is being carefully chosen to serve most efficiently its function, taking into consideration size and quantity of visitors moving up and down in the building during various hours of the day.

  • Control System

    The microprocessor control system has ensured all functional and safety features. Due to the reduction of its components in terms of number and space needed, and to its compact size, the complete escalator control system can be well fitted into a small cabinet. Our motor efficiency controller is connected between the motor and the mains which significantly reduces energy. The accuracy of its error display panel enables the maintenance team to carry out their job most efficiently, easily and with no delays.

  • Inclinations

    The most common international standard for escalator inclination is 35°. The 35° are more convenient and economical for rises up to 6000mm, for its minimum space requirement.

  • Speed

    The international standards escalator speeds are between 0.45 – 0.50 m/sec. For higher rises or public transport with excessive traffic the recommended speeds are between 0.65 – 0.75 m/sec.

  • Clearance

    The minimum horizontal clearance allowed between the outer edge of the handrail and any wall or construction is 80 mm, along a height of not less than 2100 mm, measured from the step level. The minimum horizontal clearance between two crisscross escalators or for floor openings is 500 mm, otherwise, deflectors or guards should be used instead. The minimum vertical overhead clearance should measure 2300 mm at each point along the escalator.

  • Monitoring Contacts

    Responsible for monitoring step chains for any kind of possible deformation or breakage occurring, in order to instantly disable the escalators operation.

  • Protection Contacts

    Protection contacts against foreign objects are provided for the comb plates, skirting panel and handrail, which switches off the escalator in case of any danger occurring.

  • Step Monitor Center

    Step monitor sensors are reassurance of the presence of all steps at all times.

  • Step Level Contact

    Responsible for the automatic switch off of the escalator, in case of the sinking of any step by more than 3mm, and are located at both ends of the escalator.

  • Step Guide Pad

    Maintaining a constant clearance between skirting and steps to prevent trapping and to protect skirting surface from damage or scrape.

  • Step Demarcation

    A yellow strip for the indication of the passenger's safe location on the step, in order to prevent accidents.

  • Phase Failure Relay

    Protects the motor from over current, power failure or wrong phase, by disabling the escalator in case any of these would occur.
